Tasked to design brand new race shirts and paddles for the Northern Phoenix dragon boating club with their existing logo. To design something that was more on brand for the club centered around the phoenix icon.
Race Shirts
For the shirt they were open to many ideas providing them with different styles below throughout the project until settling more on the modern sporting mascot designs. Incorporating the phoenix as the center image and building the style and design around this.
Concepts
With further iteration and experimentation of the concepts above I presented the client with the following two designs. Incorporating the two prominent design themes with the phoenix as the main mascot or the phoenix wings and feathers.

Final design
For the final design the client leaned more for the phoenix mascot as it is the Teams identity. I decided to create a more simple design still sticking with the sport team phoenix design by creating a more visually stunning adaption with more flowing lines than the other more rigid concepts before.

Paddle design
The paddle again focusing on simple design. Using the keyword of 'flow' to create something that matched their brand building off the shirt designs. Again they were open to anything wanting to do something different to the shirt where the phoenix is involved.

Closing into the final design. They really liked the phoenix design but wanted something more flowing for the background.
Final design
Creation of the final design came from the client wanting to stick with the bird designed in earlier concepts but changing the background into something more suited to the image and the sport. Ending with waves to match the flow of the phoenix. The waves are to show the conflict with the phoenix (the user) paddling through the water.
